U.S. WNT Faces Denmark to Finish Group B at Algarve Cup

The U.S. Women's National Team fell to Sweden 1-0 on Friday in its second Group B match of the 2014 Algarve Cup at Municipal Stadium in Albufeira, Portugal. The loss put an end to the USA's 43-game unbeaten streak, which started in the 2012 Algarve Cup. The U.S. next faces Denmark on Monday, March 10, to cap off the group stage of the tournament.

Abby Wambach Named as One of Three Finalists for FIFA Women’s World Player of the Year

U.S. Women's National Team forward Abby Wambach was named one of three finalists for the FIFA Women's Player of the Year award. Wambach became the second U.S. WNT member to win the award last year, after Mia Hamm.

U.S. WNT Score Two in Each Half to Win 4-0 Against Australia

The U.S. Women's National Team defeated Australia 4-0 in San Antonio, Texas on Sunday. Goals from Lauren Holiday, Carli Lloyd, Abby Wambach and Christen Press gave the USA a deserved 3-0 win against head coach Tom Sermanni's former team. The USA takes the field again on Oct. 27 against New Zealand in San Francisco.
