Four U.S. WNT Players Named to Shortlist for FIFA Women’s World Player of the Year
U.S. Women's National Team players Abby Wambach, Alex Morgan, Carli Lloyd and Megan Rapinoe have been named to a 10-woman shortlist for the FIFA Women's World Player of the Year award. Additionally, former U.S. WNT head coach Pia Sundhage and U.S. Under-20 Women's National Team head coach Steve Swanson have been named to the shortlist for FIFA World Coach of the Year for Women's Soccer. The top three finalist will be announced on Nov. 29, while the winners will be announced on Jan. 7, 2013 at the FIFA Ballon d'Or gala in Zurich.
