The Next Generation Of England Soccer?

The Next Generation Of England Soccer?

With the Soccer World Cup finals finished, quite a few of England’s players missed their last chance to win. Players that will be well into their thirties, and likely not playing in the future World Cup in 2014 in Brazil include Ashley Cole, John Terry, Rio Ferdinand, Gareth Barry, Steven Gerrard, Frank Lampard, David Beckham and David James.

So who is Fabio Capello going to be looking at to replace these aging stars in the upcoming years? Here are a few top contenders…

Joe Hart    (Manchester City, Goalkeeper) – He just finished up a wonderful season  while on loan at Birmingham. He has now forced himself into the teams latest soccer jersey as tertiary keeper. James gets closer to 40 years old and Green is failing to impress, this may mean large changes for Joe Hart, who might see a promotion to number one keeper, especially if he finds himself in Manchester city’s top squad or another large club. When Joe Hart secures his position, England might not need a new number one for a few years.

Kieran Gibbs    (Arsenal, Defender) – Gibbs may have struggled with injury at Arsenal, slowing his career, but the left sided defender is hopeful of an outstanding return to the club. With fabulous ability to play anywhere along the left side, Gibbs is only expected to grow more confident as he gains more experience in Arsenals latest soccer apparel. Clichy can expect to be pushed hard for his spot on the Arsenal team year|over the next season] and Gibbs should join the national squad over the next few seasons.

Jonjo Shelvey    (Liverpool, Midfielder) – Shelvey, people agree, maybe the one who can replace Steven Gerrard for both England and Liverpool. Still only 17, Shelvey may take a few years to climb through the ranks at Anfield, but if he does manage and he can show that he can be as important as Gerrard has been over the last few seasons, it will not be long before the England squad will want him aswell.

Daniel Sturridge (Chelsea, Attacker) – Daniel Sturridge, Chelsea’s current attacker, was not able to reach his full potential under Anelka and Drogba’s fierce partnership, but their were glimpses of magic. Sturridge should become a consistent attacking threat for Chelsea next year and may well push hard to claim Anelka’s spot in Ancelotti’s side. Daniel Sturridge, although young and even slightly naive, is great at finishing goals and could be an asset for Chelsea and England alike.

Connor Wickham (Ipswich Town, Attacker) – Not heard about him? Wickham is a prodigious talent and is already expecting a big money move to a big Premiership club, all at the young age of 17. The striker has shown great improvement since he started playing on the first team at Portman Road shortly after his 16th birthday. It is not a case of if Wickham moves into the Premier League, simply when and for how much.

The end for many World Cup stars marks a new beginning for England’s hopefuls trying to change World Cup history.

Arkansas Razorback College Football 2010

If you have ever been a Razorbacks fan, or in case you ever plan on being 1, this year you may well hold your head up high. Recent years have not been type to Fayetteville’s team, and their reputation is within the mud. Even so, tired of becoming a laughing stock, they seem to have pulled themselves together this 12 months and are geared to aim for that very top. If his last couple of years was merely a warm up, what will we see this season? Williams is clearly determined to wow us all, and which is what the group needs to turn points around.

One more factor improving the Razorbacks’ chances this yr is the new strategy devised by the running game coaches. South Carolina Gamecocks Football Season 2010

South Carolina Gamecocks Football Season 2010

1892 was the year that the South Carolina Gamecocks primary played football. On the Christmas Eve of the same year, the staff faced Furman in a competition that did not have the support of any affiliations to any educational institutions or the University of South Carolina. As a consequence, the players were definitely the ones who paid for their transportation via train and for their incredibly own uniforms. They ended up addressed as College Boys by the print media at that time, they lost the 1st game, plus the succeeding games of the season and the next season. Having a burdened beginning, it was assumed that the school will not enter the competition. But they did and in creating their way they made their personal reputation in background inside the football world.
A rough beginning
Soon after a succession of defeats in playing the first two many years of their existence, the football staff of South Carolina at last created their first victory in facing Columbia AA in 1895. In 1896 the primary victory that they’ve was followed by way of with the joining of their coach their really 1st. These humble beginnings on the group may be unlikely for the modern day fans from the group, during those days it can be critical to bear in mind that coaches were definitely rare and commonly the teams are coached by the players themselves. Another reason for the 12 months 1896 being sizeable for your Carolina history is that it was the incredibly first time that they’ve encountered the Gamecocks and Clemson which would later become their natural opponent. The Gamecocks began the substantial rivalry victorious.
C.R. Williams, the new coach consistently led the staff for many years, and manufactured the staff win various victories. In 1906 on the other hand, there was a suspension of football activities when the Board of Trustees with the school yielded to complaints of faculty concerning taunt that occur to be vulgar manifested by the fans and demanded that sport be terminated. Great thing as they generally occur in similar situations, protests from students and alumni forced the reinstatement on the program the following year. Even playing a schedule that was short of time as being a consequence, the Gamecocks ended up able to gain victories of three competitions that they’ve participated in the 12 months 1907.
New undertakings
South Carolina was a rising powerhouse of football the following decades, new players and coaches made South Carolina an established staff inside the Southern Conference that opponents have come to respect. Right after their victory in having the ACC title in the yr 1969, they left the conference and molded the Notre Dame establishing themselves as an independent group. And later as they joined the Southeastern Conference, the crew with the college carried on with their approaches which can be considered to be competitive; although most often they are overlooked in favor of schools that are of more prominence.
The Gamecocks is consistent in remaining as a Powerhouse in the SEC and can be a team that really should not be underestimated. They’re a team that started out to play losing two seasons to recognize how to make a winning game.

Loyal Legends: John Terry And Steven Gerrard

Loyal Legends: John Terry And Steven Gerrard

Examples of ‘the one club legend’ are increasingly rare in modern football. Whilst youth clubs nurture and train their star pupils, due to the commercial realities of the game, clubs often sell on their talent. This very fact makes it incredibly sentimental that two of England’s current heroes, Steven Gerrard and John Terry, have an enduring relationship with their original teams.

When John Terry joined Chelsea as a midfielder at 14, it took a temporary switch to central defence for his true talents to shine. Terry has gone on to dominate as the most successful Chelsea captain ever with three Premier League titles, three FA Cups and two League Cup titles. He now has the chance to add to that FA Cup tally and deliver the double for the first time in the clubs history. In 2009 there was speculation that Terry might leave, however the offers were rejected and Terry now has a contract in place until 2014.

The closest Steven Gerrard has reputedly come to leaving a Liverpool club, whose youth academy he joined from Whiston Juniors at nine, was when Terry’s Chelsea came knocking, in the summer of 2004 and again a year later. Soon after came a driving performance on a field in Istanbul in May 2005 and a Champions League final victory that will forever define the player. “How can I leave after a night like this?” he famously asked afterwards. Shortly after he gave an stellar performance in the 2006 FA Cup Final, defeating West Ham on penalties.

The commitment and longevity that John Terry and Steven Gerrard have shown is a great reminder of the less transient days of the game. Of the XI World Cup winners from 1966, fully eight of the players could maintain that they were one club men going into the tournament. Despite whether they red or blue, there are many England supporters hoping that these modern one club legends can work together and bring the trophy back from South Africa.

Junior Football Clubs – The Footballers Of Tomorrow

Junior Football Clubs – The Footballers Of Tomorrow

There are a variety of football clubs in the Yorkshire vicinity, and it is possibly Leeds United that is the most well-known.  Leeds United is a big league football club though, and there are not many football clubs in the area which contend with a club on that grand scale. Or are there…

Well, we don’t want to pre-empt anything, but could a little league football club like Pannal Ash junior football club actually take on the big dogs of Leeds United? Logically, us adults probably realize the answer to this, but for the sake of the youngsters, let’s imagine that they could one day take on the heavyweights of Leeds United. In the first place, it will do no end of good for their self-belief! Children don’t always get the recognition they need when it comes to sports, and Pannal Ash junior football club is one society that is truly trying to make a difference and give its junior league members a real chance of achievement. And of course, remember that one day these little league members could turn out to be professional football players, quite literally contending with the big football leagues all around the world.

Not enough recognition is offered to little league football clubs, and the Pannal Ash junior football club is one place that is nurturing its members and generating the professional footballers of tomorrow. The club is situated in Harrogate, North Yorkshire and it currently has a faithful set of followers, which just shows how beneficial a junior football club is. Parents want to see their young children do well at sports and young people love to get out there and run around kicking a ball, just like the professional football players they idolise when they return home from school every day.

There ought to be more little football teams that get the recognition they deserve, and it is important that people of all age groups have faith that the juniors could one day be the seniors at a very exclusive football club. Pannal Ash junior football club is a wonderful place to play the sport you love and promote big dream aspirations for any kid. So, never ignore the force of the little league and its possible challenge to the big league!

Is The Premier League Ruining England’s Chances?

Is The Premier League Ruining England’s Chances?

Just days before the World Cup starts and Rio Ferdinand, Manchester United and England captain, has been ruled out of the competition after sustaining a knee ligament injury during training.

A number of people are superstitious about the reasons for the injury, chalking it up to bad luck. Some say that after Ferdinand’s injuries all season mean that this kind of thing was bound to happen to the United champion, while others feel that this situation is the result of an injury jinx as old as the game itself, that dictates that players get injured close to major finals games.

I don’t hold with these black magic theories and prefer to believe that the reason that so many players on the brink of wearing England’s soccer apparel is down to one thing and one thing alone, the sheer intensity and the volume of matches that the top English (and those from other countries playing in the Premier League) are forced to play in an average season.

Participating in at least four competitions every season is a reality for many players playing on the top side of the league.  These include The Premier League, The Champions League or Europa Cup, The FA Cup and the Carling Cup. That doesn’t include the plethora of pre-season friendlies or the 6-10 international games that occur before, during and after the season.

In addition to the number of games England plays, the speed and intensity of an average match is high. England is unique in that it plays games at an intensity and speed which is injury inducing.  All things considered, players may play in around fifty matches in a season, a feat which would be rough in itself; however, the players also train and practice year round, increasing chance of injury.

This type of labour has dire consequences on the body of player. Injuries are unavoidable with this kind of consistent strain.

Consider England’s present line-up. We’ve already had to lament the loss of Rio Ferdinand, Bobby Zamora, Owen Hargreaves, and Michael Owen from the World Cup tournament, a very sad fact, considering that they are all great players. Theo Walcott was omitted, by Capello, due to the fact Capello feels he hasn’t been the same player since he injured a shoulder against Stoke in 2008.

It is a miracle that several players on the team are fit.  Ledly King keeps his knees in top shape by utilizing a specialist trainer. David James, Glen Johnson, Joe Cole, Ashley Cole, Steven Gerrard, Aaron Lennon and most worryingly of all Wayne Rooney have all recently recovered from injury. Gareth Barry is continuing to do so and will miss the first game of the finals against the U.S.A. Soccer hero David Beckham finally had to call it quits after an Achilles injury pushed him out of the playing squad for the finals.

In England, we love soccer, desiring huge, quick games, by our fervor may indeed end up hurting our players.

Jabulani Moves Super Fast And Ends Up Playing Longer Than Expected

Jabulani Moves Super Fast And Ends Up Playing Longer Than Expected

After previously developing the 2008 European Championship and 2006 World Cup footballs for adidas, now Loughborough University are the exclusive research partners for the adidas “JABULANI”. The ball has already been tested and endorsed by a number of world-class international players, including Frank Lampard, Michael Ballack, Petr Cech and Kaka.

The name ”JABULANI” originates from the Bantu language isiZulu, one of the eleven official languages of the Republic of South Africa, which is spoken by almost 25% of the population. Literally translated, “JABULANI” means “to celebrate”. Football is an energy that can unites the world. The name of the match ball can make the passionate football celebration international fans will enjoy in South Africa next summer.

11 different colours are used in the adidas JABULANI, the 11th adidas World Cup ball. These 11 colours resemble the 11 players in every team, the 11 South African tribes that make the country one of the most ethnologically diverse countries on the African continent and the 11 official languages of South Africa.

The new “Grip’n’Groove” technology provides the best players in the world with a ball that can stable flight and perfect grip under all conditions. Comprising only eight, completely new, thermally bonded 3-D panels, which for the first time are spherically moulded, the ball is perfectly round and even more accurate than ever before.

The colourful design brings together the tremendous diversity of the country in harmonious unity. Four triangle-shaped design elements on a white background lend the ball a unique appearance in African spirit. And like the outer facade of Johannesburg’s Soccer City Stadium, individual design elements also capture the colourfulness of South Africa.

There is something quiet unique about this ball, and I am sure that future designs will be created using the same technology seen in the Jabulani. Let me finish up by giving you 2 tips; anticipate the ball flying further than you expect, and when you get to shoot remember that by using the Jabulani, you already have an added advantage over the goalkeeper!

When Jabulani tested in game, the resulting were all very similar, that pointing out the fact the Jabulani moves very fast and ends up playing longer than expected. There is only one way to understand what this ball is all about, and that is to test one for yourself. If you get the opportunity to try one out, you will understand what I mean when I say that putting some spin on this ball makes it move.

One of customer review is Charles Rice. Here is what he said about World Cup 2010 Ball “I bought one of these about 6 weeks before the world cup so that me and my friends could play with it and see what it was like.As a field player, I love the way it plays on the ground. It gives great control for dribbling and moving downfield. I also like the way it shoots. Perhaps if I was a more precise shooter, I’d feel differently, but I am happy to hit the quarter of the goal I am aiming for, and I can do that as well with this ball as with most others. I like shooting this ball. Overall, I like it a lot. Most of the people I play with agree, but definitely not all of them.”
